Our school concentrates on a particular PE curriculum strand each month as well as a fundamental movement skill also.
We ensure that 60 minutes of P.E. is provided to each class for P.E. weekly.
The PE curriculum provides a balanced range of activities for children through the six strands:

We are very lucky in Scoil Naomh Íosef that we have a variety of facilities available for Physical Education. Our school hall and the spacious yard and green area at the back of the school.

Every month a class partook in an Active Scavenger Hunt, where Mr. Stokes would hide various clues around the school yard. These hunts would vary every month to include different themes such as, Halloween, Maths, Christmas, Geography etc. Each clue would be a riddle,...
A huge thank you to our dedicated committee members who did a great job organising and labelling equipment in our P.E. room at the beginning of the year. They take in turns to tidy the area every week.
We decided to concentrate on the Gymnastics strand this year and each class participated in six hour long sessions in November and December with Mark. We enjoyed this so much! Look at how much we have improved!
