As part of our work on Data the children explore the book “If the World Were a Village” which outlines various data about the world. The book uses the scale of a village of a hundred people, each person in the village representing 37 million people in the world. The children were fascinated by the age demographic of the world, the popularity of various languages, religions etc. The children created graphs to represent various topic sets. The children worked collaboratively and were free to use any of the graphs studied this year to represent the data.
The children also learned how to digitally generate graphs.
