Congratulations to Mr. Stokes and the Active Schools Committee who were recently awarded the Active Schools Flag. The committee is made up of pupils from across all classes in the school and teachers Mrs. Sinéad Wall and Mr. Jason Stokes. Missing from the photo is Jessica McCarthy from 6th class and Mrs. Wall.
Pupils throughout the school increased their level of activity both at home and in school while participating in the Active Schools programme. It included active challenges such as Run Around Ireland where children’s combined distances equated to the distance to some important historic sites around Ireland, a Fittest Families challenge at home and Active Scavenger Hunts around the school grounds.
The slogan for Active Schools in the school is ‘Come on Drom, lets get together, play outside whatever the weather’ and was written by Katie Scollard from third class.
