Scoil Naomh Iosef ran a 5 a side soccer tournament at lunchtimes over the past number of weeks, with all 4 teams involved playing each other once (3 rounds). After the 3 rounds, the top two teams played in the A final and the bottom two teams played in the B final.We played mixed teams with boys and girls from 4th to 6th starting and 3rd class pupils being the substitutes on a roll on, roll off basis. We had great excitement in the school as the tournament developed. Each team had a name, Samba Superstars, The A Team, Park the Bus and Attack a Pack. The champions league theme tune was played over the intercom before the final and we had player interviews, analysis and post match reactions all carried over the airwaves of the school intercom. It was thoroughly enjoyable and great to see the children developing their soccer skills.
