The Green Schools committee undertook a Speed Monitoring Survey outside our school as part of their work on the Green Schools Travel theme. The results were interesting with a high percentage of passing traffic found to be travelling above the speed limit. We are promoting safe travel to and from school and are hoping for traffic calming measures from Limerick County Council in the future to improve safety in the vicinity of our school.
On the same day 1st and 2nd class had a scooter safety workshop in the school yard under the guidance of Tania from An Taisce. The children thoroughly enjoyed scooting in the safe environs of the school grounds and picked up some valuable safety tips.
