We looked at patterns that occur in our environment- naturally occurring patterns and man-made patterns. Can we find patterns in nature etc. We also discussed how pumpkins look, feel – texture, are all unique etc. We experimented with patterns- copying patterns and creating patterns. We looked at the “Zentangle Guide by Mrs. Hamilton”. Some of the boys and girls drew their pumpkin free hand while others opted to focus on their patterns within a pumpkin template! We explored working with oil pastels as a medium for drawing and colouring. Oil pastels are great for blending and shading and worked well on our spooky windows. We also looked at shape and shading through drawing Skeleton heads.
