Learning about sunflowers

Over the past few weeks in Junior and Senior Infants we have been learning about plants, and in particular, sunflowers. We took the time to learn the different parts of a plant and what plants need to grow big and strong. Our own sunflowers are growing on the classroom window sill and we are very excited to plant them in the school garden. We have planted a mix of other flowers in some milk cartons and the children will take these home later in the year. We also worked on some beautiful sunflower art work that can be seen below.
