Update 11th May 2020

Dear Parents and Children,

Firstly, I would like to commend you all on the great efforts with home-schooling and distance learning to date. This will continue to be our new norm for the moment but we recognise how challenging and difficult it can be.

Work for the coming weeks is posted on the website and can also be found on Seesaw. We really value the engagement we are getting from the children through the Seesaw app.

It provides a wonderful opportunity to keep up to date with what the children are getting up to and also to monitor their progress with their school work etc. The teachers are posting videos to assist with some subjects, links to useful resources, online activities etc. as well as providing feedback to the children on the many videos , pictures and work samples that we are receiving.

As always, work is planned and differentiated across the curriculum for the children but we are keenly aware how different each child and parents circumstance at home is.

Each teacher is anxious to emphasise that school work is important and valuable but you are best placed to decide on how much meaningful learning and work can be achieved in your home daily. If you are finding it difficult to complete all the work- please don’t worry.

There is no pressure to complete all tasks. Please feel free to contact the class teacher if you would like assistance prioritising work for your child. Teachers can be contacted via their school email addresses or you can message them through the Seesaw App.

Other resources such as RTÉ’s Homeschool Hub and TG4’s Cúla 4 ar Scoil are also beneficial at this time. The children are engaging in many learning experiences outside of their assigned school work. We enjoy seeing the children’s baked goods, newly planted gardens , DIY constructions etc.

Please be reassured that learning is taking place through all these fun and enjoyable activities.

I’d like to wish you all well once again during these uncertain times.

Kind regards,
Eibhlín Nash
Principal
