3rd and 4th class paid a visit to the Dromcollogher Cooperative Creamery Museum recently. This is a very historic building in our community. It was the first cooperative creamery in Ireland when it was established in 1889. It changed Irish farming by producing butter on a larger scale to be exported through the Cork Butter Market. Prior to this butter was all made in farmhouses using the traditional butter churn. The children enjoyed their visit especially seeing the names of those who delivered milk to the creamery throughout the ages.
